What We Do
Since 1809, the Bible Society of Maine has been committed to placing God’s Word into the Hands, Heads and Hearts of the people of Maine.
We seek to fulfill this mission by:
- Distributing the Scriptures to ministries and outreach projects;
- Leading Bible Studies at the Cumberland County Jail
- Partnering with like-minded Christian outreaches such as the Salvation Army, the Root Cellar and Teen Challenge.
- Promoting the regular reading and greater use of God’s Word in daily life; and
- Providing Bible information and education.
Our services are available to all Christian churches and ministries and to individuals. Scriptures are available, without doctrinal note or interpretive comment, in most current English translations and many world languages. We are committed to strengthening the local church, which is the primary agency of God’s work in the world
