Bible Society Of Maine

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit,
between joints and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and
exposed before His eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.
Hebrews 4:12-13 (NLT)

What We Do

Since 1809, the Bible Society of Maine has been committed to getting God’s Word into the Hands, Heads and Hearts of the people of Maine.

We seek to fulfill this mission by:

  •  Distributing the Scriptures, through both at cost sales, and full or partial grants to qualifying ministries or outreach projects;
  • Leading Bible Studies at the Cumberland County Jail
  • Partnering with like-minded Christian outreaches such as the Salvation Army and Teen Challenge.
  • Promoting the regular reading and greater use of God’s Word in daily life; and
  • Providing Bible information and education.

    Our services are available to all Christian churches and ministries and to individuals. Scriptures are available, without doctrinal note or interpretive comment, in most current English translations and many world languages. We are committed to strengthening the local church, which is the primary agency of God’s work in the world

How We Do It?

We provide materials from the American Bible Society, Zondervan and other publishers. Bibles, New Testaments, Scripture portions and selections are available in several English versions and a number of world languages. We have access to Children’s Bibles and Bible Storybooks, Youth Bibles, items for targeted outreach, audio and video materials, and Bible reference books. Direct shipping is available.
We also provide consultant services on Scripture resources to meet your needs.

Our Executive Director & Board are available to speak about Bible Society work, to preach God’s Word, to lead Bible-focused retreats, and to conduct workshops on Scripture topics.

Please contact us for more information or to schedule a visit to your church or organization.
